BABE "FUN" ride this Saturday, July 11th, 11am

It's time for a fun BABE ride. Meet at Hollywood Gardens Parking Lot (169 Pinney Street, Rochester PA) at 11am for an all day ride (or ride as long as you like) all around the Beaver Valley. This will not be a speed ride, but will instead focus on enjoying the day with friends on two wheels. Bring a mountain bike or sturdy cross bike as we'll be riding both road and single track. We'll stop at some local favorites for refreshments and grub along the way. Again, FUN is the word... just like old times.

Call me with any questions. Hope to see you there!

Oh, my aching back (or, damn, I'm ready for a ride)

The Hollywood is open for business. Starting tomorrow at 4pm, Wednesday, July 8th, 2009, we're ready some riders. It's not 100% done, but our club house has good beer, some good dogs and some good people. Really, what more do we need. Soon music will play on that stage, our bikes will hang from the wall and smiles will glow on our faces. It's our time. It's our place. It's our space. Explore it all. We've earned it. God bless us all.

Ride on,
Frank

The blessing of friends, the curse of enemies...

Hey BABES,

We’ve been working on the new BABE clubhouse for a few weeks now and I’ve not been on the computer much. In addition, my home desktop finally bit the dust, so that’s contributed as well.
A few issues that I feel I should communicate...

We are having Wednesday and Friday night rides now, so grab your bike and get on the trails with us.

Blatz

I always like Blatz. I drank a lot of it as a young man ($6.50 for a 12 pack of bottles the Windsor Lounge, as I recall). Many years later, as I discovered "craft" beers and began drinking good hoppy pilsners, I would flush back vivid memories of Blatz and those little schtumpy bottles. I didn't know enough then to realize at the time, but it was a hoppy little beer in the Pilsner style and was most certainly good. And I oughta know...

Why I rode, why I ride, why I will be riding

The best people I have every known ride bicycles.

God's out there.

Sweat.

It's earned. (you know what I mean)

Don't want to be fat (that's only good with food and women).

Bacon!

The sun, the wind, the stars, the mud, the leaves, the rocks, the roots, the rain, the snow, the goiter.

Trying to recreate that one time we had those beers.

I like wearing spandex.

It could seriously injure me.

No "par".

What else could I do with that money?

The frequency and acceptability of peeing outside.

Make the hurt go away.

Provides a reasonable excuse to dress up in lederhosen for a day (one can never "dress down" in lederhosen).

That smell.

Satisfying my search for a freedom delivery device.

My knees?

Syrup Ride Tomorrow - Sunday, April 5, 2009

32nd Annual Beaver County Maple Syrup Festival is today and tomorrow.

We've decided to (surprise!) have a bicycle ride through the park tomorrow. On the ride we'll stop and pick up some buckwheat and/or wheat flour and after the ride, head over to Hollywood Gardens where BABE chef Brad Sheasley will cook us up some pancake for some after ride nourishment.

What's to say 'No." to?

Ride will start at 9am from the A-Frame at the end of Beacom Drive, which looks like it now is called Medich Drive. Now that's strange... http://tinyurl.com/d6uksg

Hope to see you there!
